What Is General Foot Care?

General foot care covers the full range of everyday foot and ankle concerns — not just the serious ones.

Podiatrists Who Treat the Full Range of Foot Problems

At SoCal Foot Care, general foot care is where most patients start. Our board-certified podiatrists diagnose and treat everything from ingrown toenails, corns, and calluses to fractures, tendonitis, and chronic heel pain. If something about your foot or ankle feels wrong, this is the place to find out why.

We see patients at every stage of life: – Kids with a sports injury or an ingrown nail from new cleats – Adults whose plantar fasciitis has started affecting their daily commute – Injured workers who need a prompt evaluation and proper documentation – Older adults managing arthritis, neuropathy, or balance concerns – Athletes who need a fast, accurate diagnosis to avoid losing a season

We combine advanced diagnostic imaging with experienced, personalized care. Most conditions resolve without surgery, and when surgery is necessary, our doctors are skilled in both traditional and minimally invasive techniques. Same-day appointments are typically available, so you’re not stuck waiting to feel better.

Why Foot Pain Shouldn’t Be Ignored What to Expect During Your Foot and Ankle Exam

Each foot relies on 26 bones, 33 joints, and more than 100 muscles, tendons, and ligaments working together with every step. Because that system is so interconnected, a minor issue in one area can quickly create strain elsewhere if left untreated. Whether you’re active, on your feet for work, or just want to walk comfortably again, early care keeps small problems from becoming chronic ones.

A detailed conversation. We ask about your symptoms, when they started, and what makes them better or worse. On-site digital X-ray. Most imaging needs are handled in-office, so you typically won’t need a separate appointment. A clear diagnosis. We explain exactly what’s going on in plain language. A conservative-first treatment plan, which may include: – Stretching and activity modification – Supportive footwear recommendations – Custom molded orthotics – Physical therapy or anti-inflammatory care – In-office injections or laser treatment Surgical referral only if needed, with a clear explanation of recovery.

If the injury happened at work and you have opened a worker’s compensation case, we work with the worker’s compensation administrator to obtain approval for services. And because acute injuries can’t wait, we often have same-day slots available for urgent issues.

Prevention is part of every visit, too — footwear guidance for your foot type, targeted stretches, and early screening for neuropathy or arthritis before symptoms progress.
